Menopause 101: Your Body, Explained

Menopause is officially the point twelve months after your final period, but the journey begins long before that moment. The years of change leading up to it are called perimenopause.

During this time your ovaries gradually produce less estrogen and progesterone. These hormones do far more than manage your cycle, which is why the effects can ripple through your sleep, mood, and body temperature.

Understanding this simple timeline helps everything else make sense. You are not broken, you are transitioning through a natural and universal stage of life.
